MK has run 3:28, 7:27 and 12:50. MK has a Bronze medal in the World Championship 1500m. If MK runs the 5000m he has a good chance to get another medal. MK is currently my favorite runner and he is already better than Galen Rupp and the best US track distance runners in history.
MK looks about the same as Jakob when it comes to his personal best times. Jakob is younger but MK is only 24 and probably has not trained quite as hard for as long. There is a chance that MK will have the better career when all is said and done.

While times are one thing, medals are more important. He will need to do better than one bronze to be in the same realm as Shorter, Centrowitz, Ryun, Rupp and more.

Yeah but he is vastly superior to Shorter as I mentioned TRACK distance runner. Clearly he is a better runner than Rupp was, and much better at the same age, but I take your point that times are not everything. However he is really really good and if he were American he would be praised as either an all time great or a likely soon to be all time great.

What does Jim Ryun have to do to be in Centro's realm?

Based on times alone...sure. Superspikes factor some as does landing in a super-fast Monaco 1500. Rupp won an Olympic silver medal and was a factor in the 10,000 for years. So, Katir hasn't matched him in terms of that medal or longevity. I gave Katir praise for his comeback within this season and even Coevett has, but you can understand why Wightman's breakthrough and Jakob's upset are the bigger topics.

Is Katir in the 5000m in Eugene? I pick him to medal if he is there. He will be a danger. He must be in sub 13 shape now. To your point about the superspikes, yes this is a factor. Did you notice Katir was dead last at 400m, and he really ran pretty smart although he finished in lane 3.
So what? Katir is a GREAT runner and you say he is a doper. So what? So what if he is? Let us celebrate that he is a great runner who likely trains hard and if he is doping he or his people are smart enough to get away with it so far. This is a great thing as obviously Rupp and Farah also got away with it, as have so many others.
