I just can't into the Steeplechase. It's too goofy and I have no reference point for what an impressive time is.
Same with 10k, just can't get into it.
Pretty much every other event I can get excited about under the right conditions.

Steeple (sorry)
Mixed gender relay (I mean the one called that).
Although they deserve the utmost respect, decathlon/heptathlon. I just can't get excited about their jack-of-all-trades performances for some reason.
In full honestly, I do watch the heptathlon sometimes because the women are beautiful.
100,200,400, heptathlon, decathlon and steeplechase
Heptathlon - I seem to always tune in at the womens h800 and it seems like the points are already far enough spread that winning it doesn't matter at all.
throws - all I can think is god I hope they don't hit someone on the track. Seems like these should be held somewhere else because of potential for danger
triple jump - Its all about form and technique.
oddball distances like 500, 1000, 2k steeple, 1200 (outside of dmr).
60 meters indoors
Blasphemy on the boards regarding the ‘chase.
Least favorite track event: Mixed relay - total joke of an event
Least favorite field event: Discus

Same two for me, all the rest are fine no probems.

Probably the 100/110 hurdles. I enjoy the 400h more.
Field - triple jump
non elite 10,000m would be boring however both at the world champs were excellent.
Sprints.
Least favorite = all field events.
Least favorite on track = relays, hurdles, & sprints.
Least favorite distance event = steeplechase, because of the hurdles & water jump.
All finals should have the same number of competitors.
Thus if distance events have 12, 16 or 24 participants, then sprints and hurdles should be likewise.
Just line them all up across the track the same as the distance runners, and start the races.
They would be much more entertaining this way.
Every event that isn't the men's 800, 1500, 3000, or 5000 in athletics suck.
I respect the hell out of decathletes/heptathletes but it’s not very watchable.
I have never seen a boring track event. From jr. high to pro, the effort and competition is amazing all the way through.
All the sprints and the distance events. Like WWE. I have a mild curiosity about the effects of peds on championship sports, since they are there for the world to see.
Definitely all field events. Sprints. Relays.
100, 200, 100/110h, 400h. Mixed gender relay.
Also obviously all field events are terrible but especially the triple jump and throwing events.
Watching the decathlon or heptathlon (slightly better) is painful too, nine (six) boring events, then a slow middle distance race to finish it. I can watch that down the local track, no need for a world championship to watch some big guys run 4.50

As opposed to hammer, discus, HJ, PV, sprint hurdles etc?

It's more watchable if you follow it all the way through.

This would by my answer as well. Great athletes, just not that entucing when you know they are not the best at what they currently are doing.
