Gradually getting faster this year in the 10 and 20. This past week were all 10s and 20s, powerlifting, broad jumps, and verticals.
Best 10 yard dashes this past week were .81, .81, .81, .82, .83, .84 and lots of .85s..
Then did 2.03, 2.03, 2.04, and lots of 2.06s in the 20 yard dash. My PR in the 20 is 1.94 from 2020 but at a lower body weight of around 206. My best 20 from 2021 was 2.00 at similiar body weights of 222.
Then did broad jumps and got out to 9 foot 1 which is my 3rd best jump ever. My PR in the broad jump is 9 foot 3 from 2021. In 2020 at 206 lbs body weight I did 9 foot 0 as my best which was a PR back then. So this is rare for me to get anything above 9 foot 0. I've pretty much been at 8.7 to 8 foot 10 all year long. THe heat helped me get out to 9 foot 1. I always jump better in really hot weather. The video shows an 8 foot 10 jump though. I didn't get the 9 foot 1 jump on video.
All this means is that I did so much damage to my body from distance running and 400s from 1993 till 2015 that I continue to get stronger and stronger at 42 years old. And i'm gradually jumping further and further and running faster and faster each year even at this age because i'm not doing anything over 100 meters all out. And i'm finally on the right training program.
Really shows how damaging distance running is that i'm still recovering from it.
