    I live close to the entrance to some popular running trails and a large volume of runners go by my house every day. Could I open up a Runner Aid Station in my driveway and garage?

    I could hose hot runners off with a garden hose. I could sell water, gels, band aids, moist washcloths, bananas...all sorts of running-related stuff and make a substantial profit.

    Are there some kind of zoning laws against this? I don't think there would be any issues as long as the runners just paid in cash and kept their f*cking mouths shut about it.

    It might take a while for it to catch on, unless it is a charitable venture, because runners usually don’t carry much cash.

    This won't be a freaking charity. Fast cars and ocelots don't pay for themselves.

    What I can do is offer the first "hose-off" or banana for free, and then, if my hospitality was of good value, they'll want it again. So, the next time they get ready to go for a run, they'll slip a $20 bill in their shoe to pay for my services.

    The hose-down will always be free of charge.

    I bring them in with the hose-down and make my money by selling bananas, iced coffee, letsrun memorabilia, and whatnot.
