Kibiwott Kandie is Kenyan 10,000m champion. That in alone should get you enough ranking points to qualify for the World Championships. He ran 27:33 at altitude. That should get him into Worlds.
But futhermore he is a star in the sport, the runner-up at the World Half Marathon champs, the former world record holder in the half marathon. He's run 26:51 on the roads. All of these things should get him into Worlds.
He is a serious medal threat at 10,000m, yet World Athletics rules are so out of touch that he can't be at Worlds. They should have some appeal process and let him in.
Kenya should be able to send whatever 3 people it wants in the 10,000m to Worlds. Allotment spots should be earned by country.
