Okay to be preface, I'm a regular hobby jogger (compared to the standard here), but I thought I was a decently fit runner.
Been injured for a while, so decided to take up cycling and cross trainer until I heal. The cross trainer was pretty brutal. I decided to go for a 40 minute workout and only managed 4km. Was about 70% effort. I put the machine resistance about halfway (12/25).
I went on google to check what the standard was. Apparently the average person can do a 5km in under 30 minutes on a cross trainer. I'm stumped. How is this possible??? Am I just really bad? I don't think I could do this at my race pace effort.
Does LetsRun have any experience with using a cross trainer? What is your 5km time (or time for any distance) on the cross trainer?
