Friends and I have been planning to attend WCs for 5 years.

We have a double hotel room paid for (via a Track & Field Tour group from UK), which also incudes daily shuttle bus to the stadium.

But we can't attend now as some of us are South African passport holders and the USA Embassy in Cape Town has a 6 month delay in issuing visas. It's a massive disappointment for us.

We cannot get a refund, but the tour group will allow us to transfer it over to someone else.

We paid around $4,900 for 11 nights. Willing to accept any offers.

They should try to go through a Visa agency. It's a little more expensive but that might work.

Thanks - the problem was that they couldn't risk buying (incredibly expensive) flights when there wasn't any certainty that the visa would come through in time and the US Embassy wasn't making any exceptions on their 6 month waiting list - that's just for the interview appointment, let alone when the visa might actually be issued. We've been trying to find way to navigate this for the past 3 months without success ...... so they cancelled

We became aware of this about 3 months ago, when we started booking flights, planning visas, etc. Earliest appointment for a visa 'interview' was in 6 months time. It's a total bummer ...... no way around it!
