I'm going for my first marathon in 7 years in about 75 days. My PRs are from 10 years ago 17:44 5K, 36:33 10K, 1:19:45 half and 2:53 marathon. The good news is that I never really put in big mileage or track work for those times. A lot of longer progression runs.
I've been building from scratch basically since January. Last three weeks at 40mpw with essentially no speed work since it's so hot/humid in FL. Ran a 32:30 5 mile race in March (good conditions) and a 19:36 5K last month with 3 days notice in warm/windy but not crazy hot weather (company sponsored race). My long runs have been right around 8 min pace (15 miles is the longest so far).
I ran 4 miles at 6:53 pace this morning with a warm up and cool down mile for 6 total at 7:17 pace, 79 degrees and 73 dew point. It was a 90% or so effort.
My primary goal is to BQ (3:20), I'd really like to make sure I'm in (sub 3:15), and hoping to break 3:10. What are my chances barring injury or illness? The race is in Erie with temps generally high 50s to high 60s.
