How so? Genetics? Training methods? Advanced age? Doping? All of the above?
Jamaican genetics are pretty much the same as Black people in America, Canada and Great Britian. To the best of my knowledge Stephen Francis or Glen Mills haven't written any books, conducted clinics or added anything to modern training methods. - I will leave it at that.
Blake is looking very explosive. But when he runs that curve on the 200 you can see just how rocky and awkward it looks. I wouldn't bet against Blake in a 40m dash against anyone right now, but the rest of his race lacks the smoothness and looks like a bit of a struggle. Yes, I know, he ran 9.85 so it sounds ridiculous to say that. But the standard he set is 9.69 and the standard Fred Kerley set this year is 9.76, so that's the comparison.
