But Galen says he doesn’t think God cares about the results. Now I am not sure that his quotes make much sense in terms of being consistent with each other but what can one expect from these people?
Galen also says he has dealt with pain and compensation injuries as he has recovered from his Achilles surgery. That must be difficult to work through and train at a high level.
Just so. Proverbs 23:2 says to "put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite."
If "G-d" be real, and if the Bible really be the Word of "G-d," then the gluttons who make themselves fat are headed for the pit.
Along with people who get tattoos, eat pigs, trim the corners of their beards, combine meat and milk, flick a light switch (much less drive a car) on Saturdays, and so on.

The last bit is if you're Jewish. Lol.
The average ath-ist shouldn't be allowed to comment on The Bible, y'all just parrot the same points and don't bother to look for the counterpoints.
If it is true, there should be no counterpoints. Truth is not binary.
Well, not according to how JC is quoted in the Bible. But you're welcome to another opinion, if you think JC was wrong (or the Bible misquoted him). Matthew 5:17-18: 17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away [which they haven't], not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
Well, that depends. If by the term "G-d" we understand the deity worshiped by the People of the Book (Jews, Christians, and Muslims)--that is, the god-of-Abraham--then, *as it is typically defined by them*, it *cannot* exist.
Those believers will typically tell you that their object of worship is both all knowing and all powerful. But if it truly knows all--the past, the present, and the future--then that means the future *can* be known, which means it is knowable--fixed--and cannot be changed. If so, then their deity is powerless to change it and hence not all powerful.
A being with contradictory properties cannot exist in reality, any more than a married bachelor can. So the Abrahamic "G-d" cannot, and hence *does* not, exist.

"Until everything is accomplished", what do you think he is referring to? (The answer is the cross) Romans 4:1 What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5 And to the one who does not work but believes in2 him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
For more explanations on the Mosaic law and how it applies to the Christian today:
'Chapter XIX. Of the Law of God I. God gave to Adam a law, as a covenant of works, by which He bound him and all his posterity to personal, entire, exact,'

That is some logic there, lol. Of course, God is all knowing and all powerful. He truly knows all--the past, the present and the future-- then that means the future *can* be known (to God), which means it is knowable (to God). The future is *fixed* and cannot be changed. God is powerful, and does not need to *change the future* (like the future is some sort of Marvel movie) because He has written it, he decided it.
Also, you are applying "presentness" to the Creator of the universe. You are applying a human characteristic to something that is beyond our comprehension, which is why your "logic" falls flat on its face. It is completely possible for God to be outside the "present" and exist all at once, at all times. Maybe! We won't know on this side of life.
People within Christian circles debate things such as free will and predestination all the time. I think it's pretty obvious that people do have choice, and throughout bible, God will give prophets choices, in which sometimes they choose the wrong choice.
To be an atheist, you cannot believe in free will. Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens admit as much. We are just doing what protoplasm does under the sun at this temperature.
So you can choose between some kind of creator, or realize that you have no choice or control over your life.
This is why I can't understand fat people who claim to be Christian. God created you in his image and sculpted a beautiful body for you, then you stuffed your cakehole with beer and Cheetos until you turned your body - your gift from God - into something grotesque. And you still think you're doing what God wants you to do with your life?

The laws you mention we’re part of law of Moses. Christians believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the requirements of the law, so that we live by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. That means our obedience to the law is no longer the arbiter of our relationship with God.
”“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” Matthew 5:17-18 NIV
“The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.” Hebrews 10:1 NIV
