This is such an low value comment that bring nothing to the message forum.
Certainly a taller task than the 1500.
Here are his likely challengers:
Yomif Kejelcha (12:46.79 PB) - In top form as he ran 26:49 and 12:52 (doing a lot of work) in the span of 5 days
Berihu Aregawi (12:50 PB) - Also in tiptop form running 12:50 destroying the field at Pre
Muktar Edris (12:54 PB) - In better shape than usual and trains with Worku and Kejelcha, best kick in the field so if he's there at 150 to go, he is the danger man
Nicholas Kimeli (12:46 PB)- Showed newfound patience and a wicked kick (13.1 last 100) in Rome, Paul Chelimo seemingly ruined his race last year, but otherwise he was getting bronze or silver
Jacob Krop (12:46 PB) - Made a huge breakthrough to run 12:46, and though Kimeli kicked by him, his last 300 was really impressive
Mo Ahmed (12:48 PB) - Ahmed steps his game up at Championships especially in the 5,000, he's looked good not great this year
Grant Fisher (12:53 PB) - Somewhat unproven at this level despite great PBs, not sure if he can kick with the best yet
Joshua Cheptegei (12:35 PB)- World Record holder, and even last year not in his best shape executed a great 5,000 race
If I were power ranking them right now I'd go:
1. Cheptegei 2. Kimeli 3. Aregawi 4. Jakob 5. Kejelcha 6. Krop 7. Ahmed 8. Edris 9. Fisher
The 5000m and the 1500m are unpredictable this year.
Does anyone know if Kiplimo is entered in the 5000m?
If it's a slower tactical race I think he is the favorite. If they go balls out from the gun I'm less confident in his chances, although we haven't seen what he can do in a fast 5k this season.
