Ollie is on a tear this year too, took down Kipsang and Tim at Pre. Don’t see anyone beating him unless an off day.
He said on the Coffee Club that his plan was to sit on Jakob then kick for home. If he does that, he'll die on the last lap and probably finish 6th. Hoare's running well, but I don't think he can track Jakob if he's running 3:46/47 pace.
Jakob has his Oly gold. This year is about WRs. He got one in the indoor 1500, but time for outdoor WRs in the mile, 3000, 5000. It's a touch early in the season for a jaw-dropper on Thursday, but a solid PR/NR/MR in 3:46 low or 3:45 seems likely. Hopefully the field gives him some help, unlike at Pre.

Eh, maybe but with some ambitious plans for Worlds/European Champs, I'm not sure you will get as many record attempts as we may see in other years. I think he wants to pull off a historic double-double.

I dont see why Hoare cant hang on 3:47 pace, that converts to 3:30 and with the way he is running this year I think he is close to that fitness.
