Ethiopia has 2 wild cards (Edris and Aregawi as Diamond League winner) but they can use only one, and can select Kejelcha, Tefera, Wale and Aregawi as will card
Barega and Kejecha did just do a sub 27 10,000m...
That is a great point. These 2 had 3 days rest as they did the 10000m on June 5 and the 5000m on June 9. When you think about it, it is not surprising that they were not at full strength in the 5000m.
If you look at the top 20, you will see that nine athletes have done it under super shoe conditions and era. Cheptegei, Barega, Gebrhiwet, Kimeli, Kejelcha, Krop, Ahmed, Ingebrigtsen, Kiplimo.

I’m fairly sure Barega, Gebrhiwet and Kejelcha ran 12:43/12:45/12:46 in Brussels without super shoes. Certainly Gebrhiwet ran 12:47 in 2012 without super shoes.
Again, Nicholas Kimeli and Jacob Krop had a lot left in the tank which, I'm guessing, was good for about 12:42 for Kimeli and possibly 12:43 for Krop. But they were racing Kejelcha instead of going for time.
