Jakob Ingebrigtsen is talented and I hope he breaks records. But a comparison to El Guerrouj? Few runners at that level of time were more humble than Hicham. Maybe Noureddine Morceli. But Jakob isn't that humble.
The sport could use a little less humility. A brash, talkative competitor is what distance running needs right now.

Kiprop? Yes, already proven.
It's actually a good comparison in many senses. Incredibly smooth, strength-based runners who are amazing in time trial situations. Their max speed and kick leaving you think they should take the lead earlier in a slow race because they could be vulnerable to the kickers. And if we're going to go on the doping thing, I find Jakob much more likely to be clean.
