What is sad is that high school BOYS are renting space in YOUR head. Colin has no obligation to change his plans to please you and race Gary. Colin is an alpha here. He does NOT jump when you say jump.
I also suspect that after running the number 3 HS mile of all time Colin may be deciding whether he wants to turn pro or not. I wouldn't be surprised if agents were blowing up his phone begging him to sign now instead of running NCAA. He's got big boy problems to think about. He doesn't have to run another step this year.

If he does go pro, hopefully he finds himself a better training situation than Drew had. Kessler seems to be in a good spot with Warhurst, but he may soon outgrow his training partners.
Maybe an up and coming brand like OAC throws him big money to join, would be hard not to take.

Would be a terrible decision. Needs to go to college.
The kid has had a long season. The NP group looks like they're really on the back end of their peak as his brother just flamed out in the 800 at the state meet. I wouldn't blame him if he decided to take a break now and get ready for XC.
That being said, the fan in me noticed the 800 is 2 days before the mile at New Balance, so he could theoretically go for a fast 800 and race Gary Martin in the mile.

Martin is like 1 second behind him, he's probably in the same boat as Colin.

Sound great, except for the minor detail of Colin Sahlman saying that he is not running any more miles this year.

I heard the interview that he was done with the mile and his next goal was to run a fast 800. That’s why I said THEORETICALLY it’s doable as opposed to if the mile was scheduled before or on the same day of the 800, then it would be a definite no go. It’s not like he can’t changed his mind. He could pop a big PR in the 800 and decide to take advantage of his fitness and enter the mile (ride the peak).
