Haha, wow. Great example of idiocy. I think this demonstrates that it varies by fact checker, which is unfortunate because you would fact checkers to be reliable and unbiased.
To be fair there are better ones, at least on this claim. Politifact for example says: "the two figures are out of date, but the thrust of the claim is accurate...we rate the claim Mostly True".
It depends. If they provide evidence to support the fact check, then yes. If they don’t or the evidence is just some vague hypotheticals, then I do not take it seriously. This being asked as a yes or no question is the epitome of what is wrong with American. It’s you vs. me. Us vs. them. Yes vs. no. It should be it depends for everything. There’s very few, if any, political topics that have an absolute answer. Mostly because politics is 100% opinion.
So the fact checker is accurate at that point in time but the conclusion that is implied is misleading. What if you are reading an article from 4 years ago? Who will be updating it or clarifying that is was true in the past.
Fact essentially doesn't exist anymore. Almost anything is up for heated debate, especially if it means not agreeing with the opposite political party.
Your best bet is to ignore everything that doesn't affect you directly.
With Biden, we don’t even need a fact check any time he goes off prompter, we just know it’s wrong and his press secretary will spin a redaction in the aftermath.

I think it's what's true at the time. The issue I saw with the example is it was marked false for the difference between 2.4T and 2.6T, which is a 7.7% difference...marginal...and 8 months vs 9 months which is also marginal. Those differences don't make something not black and white "false" because in fact that claim is at least mostly true. It's not like someone said that jet didn't crash when in fact it did.
