University of Texas Men is A+++ its so many standouts to list but they recruited three of the top 5 best dualhurdlers in the nation all running 36.2 or less. Brenen Thompson running 10.2 and john rutledge 20.55. Nolton Shelvin 10.1 . Jeremiah Nubbe top ranked discuss thrower. Their Distance recruits are crazy good too.
The women are still in the recruiting phase probably trying to see what students with eligibility will return or go pro etc.. but they do have some fire transfers coming in with lanae tava thomas formerly of USC PR of 11.1, 22.6, and 7.20. Taejha badal is another transfer from TAMU with a 11.3 PR and 23.4.
Stanford might have the best girls distance running recruiting class in history. Next year's top 4 Stanford freshman girls can probably break the college 4x800 national record. That's crazy.

im not sure any distance team has done more with just in state talent. There is only 1 distance recruit from outside of texas
I mean they are talented So what does it really matter whether they got all in state talent. the distance coach at texas probably had to do less convincing to get them to stay in state. Plus this has been a standout year for him overall as a coach and with the performances he has delivered Texas probably looks a lot better than many.

That's the reason that Floreal gave at his press conference when he was announced as the new Texas coach a few years ago, as to why he left Kentucky to go to Texas - The fact that it would be very easy to him to recruit all the great Texas high school athletes. Turns out he was right.

I think its a good thing
since flo controls most of the scholarships it makes since that they mostly recruit instate for distance.

I didnt mean to sound combative either im my response my apologies if it came off that way. But yeah especially if money is a factor then i can see that being another incentive to recruit locally. But honestly the NCAA needs to pour more money into track programs. These football coaches make so much damn money it’s ridiculous.
