I’m 3,5 years into running and my 5k time is at 18’. I ran the 1500 once last year at 4:54 (my training is centered on the 5-10k). Should I switch to the 1500m if I want to qualify for the nationals? (Standards are 15:50-4:10)

Those times are pretty equivalent. If you liked the 1500m, why not go for it?
I’d say focus on the 1500m; develop your speed for a block of training, then switch back to the 5k-10k for a block. You’ll find that your running economy will improve after anaerobic intervals, and this will benefit your 5-10k, so long as you maintain a good aerobic base. However, your goal of making the Nationals is going to be a long term one, given that your current 1500m pace is slower than the pace for the 5k standard. But keep at it, maintain consistency and I’m sure you’ll see those times drop.
I did that last year, it was a magnificent boost.
Holy F****ing Sh**. Employee 1.1 just broke 15:00 for 5000 for the 1st time at age 36.
