bigger award but yes the "T&F player of the year" you might say. An honor to be on the list, but I don't see how she has a shot unless she sets a record or something. Even then there are many other deserving athletes.

From what I can see noone ever won Gatorade T&F player of the year or athlete of the year and Bowerman award. Someone correct me if I am wrong.....Not that I am saying Tuohy will win Bowerman this year but what if.......
Very tough to win this for this season, but a nice recognition. Also can always tell her grandkids that she bumped Alfred and Gittens. Pretty amazing list of talent.
For those who asked, it's like the Heisman Trophy for track. The biggest individual award, covers both indoor and outdoor.

i feel like this award has advantge on sprinters because top american sprint times are comparable to world leads but distance times in college arent.. i mean,, even most the american pro's times aint either
oh, sikeeeeeeee i guess this award is tough to win, katelyn has to pretty much break 1500m and 5000m ncaa record to win this thing jhhhhhh
if hypothetically someone won 2 or 3 individual titles and ran very fast times or broke record they would have to get serious consideration. Perhaps like Nur this year.

has any female distance runner won this award??
Several female 800 runners have won it. Laura Roesler, Raevyn Rogers (both from Oregon) and Athing Mu (A&M). Athing won it last year over Tyra Gittens and Tara Davis. All three competed in the Tokyo Olympics, the two gold medals for Mu probably made a difference. This is a huge honor for Katelyn to be nominated but she is very deserving! I would say the favorites to win will most likely come from the sprints as they can compete in more events. Ofili, Steiner, or Wilson probably have the best chance depending on how they place at nationals and any collegiate records they break.

only 1 distance runner won the award since ever, so i guess theres that .. its really hard to win it as a distance runner, you pretty much need to break all records and win at least 2 titles
but yea indeed great on katelyn to be in this list, not all can be on this and shes just a sophomore

Even though the Bowerman winner isn't announced until the end of the year, all the votes happen right after the college season concludes in June. So Mu's Olympic gold medals had nothing to do with her winning.
