Brutal workout from Kilian Jornet and Jon Albon before Zegama. 50km(31mi) and 1934m(6345ft) vert.
Oh, and average pace was 4:32min/km - 7:18min/mile

To put in perspective, one of the greats of our time, Jon Albon, could only do half the workout with Kilian. In his story he said Kilian is an absolute monster joking around the whole time.
That's a pretty common mountain workout for ultramarathoners, tbh.
Actually 6300 feet in 31 miles isn't really all that much climbing. I'd have to see how technical it was before being like "ohmygod, the pace is amazing".
KJ did 5x5000 in 13:20 after a 60k warmup and vertical K in 2:30. All timed with an hourglass and measured with a piece of string. Next week he will race a 10k in Norway where he will get chicked and lose to 17 local club hobby joggers.
So this one wasn't faked? That's good. He's always mixing it up.

As he is one of the legends of Mountain runners you can kind of just assume this is a pretty ok session. Lots of it is at road and in the low land due to snow, but its a best of a workout.
A 3:46 50km mountain run in training is not “normal”. I can spot those who have not run.
Kilian is my favorite runner, and top 5 athlete, if all time. He is much more impressive than running fast road or track races.
