Lots of talk about Steiner today and if she peaked too soon/does her form hold her back in the short sprints. Could the 400 possibly be her best event if she focuses on this?

WHOA she blasted past three other teams and they got the Collegiate Record formerly held by a Mu-assisted T A&M! Looking like sub-50 open for sure....
Steiner is awesome.
Yes and yes. She might still have the speed and fitness to go 49 in the open. She could conceivably go top 2 in the 400 at nationals. She could very conceivably be 5th or worse in the 100.
I think at least considering a 200/400 (if the schedule allows for it) would be smart.
I would love to see her in the open but unfortunately she doesn’t have a regional mark so it is unlikely this year until after collegiate season possibly
As we can see Miss Steiner could fit right in.

What's the point of comparing Abby Steiner to a bunch of drugged up women from the 1980s?
In the history of the NCAA womens 4x4 relay, theRe has never been a sub 49.00 split before. Can't find that info for just the SEC.
What's the point of talking about 4x4 splits at all if you aren't going to compare them?
Hey Amy Steiner just split a sub 49 4x4 split..........ok so what? Unless you have comparisons to just what does that mean,
Jamaica's National record team

Davita Prendagast (49.6)

Athing Mu split 48.8 lasy year.
3 women split sub -49 in this race, led by Britton Wilson with 48.6. After winning the 400/400h double!
I had a feeling this would happen, my list only went up to 2020. So prior to 2020 .....
Great CR by Kentucky. Really liked Steiner's 3rd leg.
Thread is about Steiner yet Wilson had a faster split?
that being said:
Wilson 48.6
Steiner 48.7
Mu 48.8…
makes a pretty good relay
Add charokee young… what a foursome!
Possibly…but I think the 200 might be her best a la Gabby Thomas
Correct me if I’m wrong, but To put that sec womens 4x400 in perspective, the fastest four legs would have run 3:15.6....the world record, by the doped up USSR from the 1988 oly games, is 3:15.17

You're adding up the total time of 4 runners who had the advantage of having a rolling start due to being in a relay (and not being Leg 1). 48.6 for a relay split is not the same as 48.6 for the open 400m.
