Des Linden- why did she leave the Hansons?

    This move still seems puzzling to me.

    After two Olympic teams and shortly after winning the Boston Marathon, Des left her coach of more than 12 years.

    Why did she do this, and in terms of results, was it the right move?

    I couldn't tell you if it was the right move, but she left because Ritz joined the team.

    She did not want to have a teammate with a history of "grey area" drug use and a recently convicted coach.

    I thought it was a combo of Ritz joining & not feeling the need to employ a coach any longer.

    This. Ritz was more of the easy excuse she thought more people would understand. It took down neither the Hansons nor Ritz, it just made her look like a Karen.

    Wasn't desi on thyroid meds herself? Seems kind of hypocritical to call out dathan for gray area stuff.

    I don’t respect anyone who thinks thyroid meds are comparable to what Ritz was involved in.
