Do you really think the best of hip hop actually can compare to the best in country, rock, blues, jazz?
What we have is the young people thing here like we had when rock and roll hit in the 50's, the kids spending the $$$$$ on the music. If you have listened to music for years how can hip hop match up? If you grow up listening to hip hop early on and have nothing else to compare it to, see how it works?
You want to talk with me about them prewar blues from the Mississippi Delta pre 1940, how about Bob Wills and Western Swing or some Louis Jourdan, Mills Brothers, Ink Spots, Sinatra, I know......you can't. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Bill Haley and His Comets , hell.....Elvis. All that stuff on a whole other level than hip hop which is simple and geared for young minds nothing interesting about it at all. All that.....N.....is trying too hard and boring.
Get out and listen to that hugh world of music, it won't take you long to figure out hip hop you will out grow. You don't out grow Bessie Smith, Billie Holliday, Louis Armstrong, Robert Johnson, Sinatra, Hank Wlliams.
