What is the boards opinion on runner Nick Bare?

Nick is on the secret sauce.

Hind: It's not that overpriced power stuff he sells.

He is highly motivated, hard working individual. Can’t say that about most people. As a result he has earned my respect.

As for his running, I think he is pretty good for someone of his size.

Imo doing the youtube videos and running is a part of his marketing. A guy not owning a big company , running without anyone knowing about it, without anything to gain through marketing on youtube or building himself up to be worshipped like a David Goggins esque figure is more motivated than NB.

People need to be aware in this day and age where people get to market and portray themselves. If you have enough money or are talented enough, your youtube videos will allways show you like a badass.

Ps: there is something else to say he is training for a 2:50 and actially running a 2:50. Especially when we are talking about a guy who previously have not met his time goals.

I was in the 190lbs and broke 2:50. Don't think I was ever 200lb when doing it. I am not the only bigger guy who could do it.

I don't know anything about him. If he makes a career off trying to do it and other things like it, he must be very good at self promotion. Better at self-promotion than actual achievement. I give him respect if he is enjoying what he is doing and making good money at it.

Is that really your philosophy of life? "Sure, I took advantage of those idiots, but they were stupid enough to fall for it." You're correct that it's not illegal to sell worthless crap to people, but you might to hold your heroes (and yourself) to a higher standard than "It's not illegal."

He's refreshing, in my opinion. He has been humbled by the distance and doesn't claim to be an expert. He isn't claiming to be able to hit an OTQ when he clearly can't.

Great promoter- he's ripped and running- appeals to a wide range of people. I've heard his supplements are good from friends that have tried them fwiw.

Obviously he's roided to the gills, but it isn't hurting anyone. for folks out there interested in hybrid training, he's your guy

I'd say the boards in general are pretty skeptical:
-90% believe he's doping as far as his physique
-70% believe his running accomplishments so far are overblown (e.g. short courses, misrepresented workouts etc.)

He does have a chance to prove the doubters wrong on his running, at least. Probably no way to convince anyone that he's not on the sauce, however.

Has he ever actually run a race? Honestly curious.

Ok assuming it’s the right person, he hasn’t ever even done 10k at sub 3 he pace and he says he’s going for 2:50? When I tried for 2:50 I’d at least run ~1:21ish half and thought I had a reasonable chance. Good on him for lofty goals but he has a long way to go.

I think he already did a similar YT thing to break 3 hours which he did in, and someone can correct me if I’m wrong, what was essentially a downhill course in a race he created solely for this purpose.

I did watch one of his marathon prep videos the other day where he said he did XYZ at whatever pace but found it interesting a big YTer like Nick doesn’t post these workouts to a public Strava, seems suss. Am I just to assume you got all these paces etc. just because you say you did?

His coach also seems like an insufferable cheerleader.
