The trouble with super shoes is the high stack, high mid sole, lack of response & reaction. The super shoe was designed to carry Galen Rupp the last 6 miles of a 'thon. That was the original (and only) reason it was designed. But not an ideal shoe for 5k or 10k perhaps.
So, wouldn't a Vaporfly with 500 miles on it have that sponginess beaten out of it, making it an ideal racing flat? It still has the full length carbon fibre plate, but not the squishy foam (which has now been pounded down to a tolerable level.
Do you subscribe to this theory? In other words, over time can a marathon shoe be converted to a racing flat by just putting miles on it.
In other other words - how do your 500 mile Vaporflies feel at pace on a 4 mile flat tempo run. Try not to be that primer donna who has no use for a shoe after 200 mile. Be expansive - they don't charge by the word on here.
