LRC note. This post was edited. Initially, it said McLaughlin "promptly" signed with NB. She ran 1 year at Kentucky first - 16 months passed before she signed.
Does she wear NB already? For a long time, aroind 99% of HS runners wore the Swoosh. That may be changing. She may be NB-shod now. The sub-4 outside of Sacramento was done in NB, I believe. That would be the only non-Nike HS 4 minute mile since the Liquori era. If the young lady in question isn't Nike-loyal, that's a good sign they don't have a complete monopoly on teenage running like they did for a couple decades.
Some teenagers wear lots of different brands depending on their mood. I wouldn't read too much into what logo you saw on Willis's shirt at a particular meet.
I recently saw a top high school girl wearing Nike, NB, Under Armour, and Adidas all at the same time. (shirt, shorts, socks, shoes)
so she has the HS 800 record, the US U20 4X8, 4Xmile and DMR records, so why not add the actual DMR world record to that. quite a trophy collection she has going. must be nice to be a high school kid and hobnobbing with all these professionals on your weekends away. i do hope she doesnt go pro yet though. is it true she has dual citizenship? any chance she runs for Ireland if qualifying for the US isnt in the cards by 2024?
The Union Athletics Club delivered a solo performance to become the first ever training group, competing under the same team name to secure the record. They ...
Hey DVG, you got what I was asking. Unlike other posters suggest, I wasn't assuming anything based on clothing worn. It was easy for me not to read anything into that... not having ever seen a picture of her. I was just curious if she was already NB loyal or at least somewhat into them since for a long time now, non-Nike-shod high schoolers are rare.

Yeah, I hear you, some people here don't understand words are read far too much into simple comments. I understood what you meant and all I can say is that every time I have photographed her she's been wearing NB shoes, the one below was from the trials. This does not suggest that she will sign with NB, or that she only wears NB shoes, it suggests exactly what I have stated and that is that "I" have only seen and photographed her wearing NB, and for more context, that's 5 meets over the last 3 years.

How does she have the 4xmile ND dmr records? She was not on those teams.
This just shows how pitiful American women 800 meter runners are. A high schooler has the 2nd fastest time and only Wilson has broken 2 minutes. Most of the top American women are more than 5 seconds behind what Mu ran last year. Just sad.

Willis part of both memorable efforts, joining fellow Stanford commits Parekh, Stewart and Wells on 4xmile relay that runs 19:30.13, before teaming with Stanford signee Whittaker, Arkansas-bound Cochran and Ince on DMR to clo...
"Roisin Willis of Stevens Point, Wisc., contributed to both all-time marks in the 4xmile relay, as well as the distance medley relay, which both achieved the fastest performances by not only prep quartets, but American Under-20 lineups as well."
18 posts so far...not one talking about the running event yet. But I digress...they will need the shoes and track to beat those two other great super teams. Hope they do it.

You want me to celebrate mediocrity? Not going to do it. American female 800 meter runners are mediocre at best. That even might be giving them too much credit. How about someone running a 1:57? Is that too hard?
