I'm a highschool junior who has started doubling once or twice a week, and I think they are working pretty well. I do my doubles on workout days, as I usually have 3 a week, or 2+ a race.
Over the summer I only do 2 workouts per week (the fartlek isnt a real workout, just a normal long run with a pickup on the hilly segments I have been trying out) so I was wondering which day I should throw in a third or fourth double. Heres a sample week. I've been thinking wednesday or saturday but I might just go whenever I feel good.
Sunday:75-85
Monday:30-50
Tuesday:2x2mile w/1.5 min rest
Wednesday:60-70
Thursday:barefoot run easy 30
Friday:8x 1k with 150 meter jog
Saturday:10+ easy fartlek+10
