A couple of weeks ago, my cardiologist did some tests and found that my arteries are less elastic than optimal. (I can find the name of the test, if it's important.) Subsequently, I talked with another doctor who said arterial inelasticity is common among seniors my age (74).
Anyway, heart heart is pretty important to me as I do a lot of very high intensity workouts. My doctor recommended Neo40 Professional. It's really pricey, but I figured that I'd try it until my next appointment four months from now.
Anyway, I noticed the primary ingredients are beetroot powder and hawthorn berry extract. I've seen testimonials for beetroot and nitric acid, but I was wondering if anyone here had personally tried beetroot or nitric oxide supplements and noticed any difference.
I'm recovering from surgery/illness so I can't really do a before/after test myself. Subjectively, I've noticed that my BP (normally 130-138 over 80-82 after morning coffee) has dropped to 117-118 over 71-72 after coffee in the past two weeks. That's supposed to be a benefit for heart health, but I frankly haven't researched nitric oxide yet.
Any firsthand experience with nitric oxide? If so, what was it?
