I'm trying to figure out what's best for long runs too. A lot of shoes feel like they beat up my feet. NB Rebel v2 seems to protect my feet but not sure if I should be using what feels like more of a tempo shoe. Endorphin Shift beat my feet up after 10 miles.
Hoka Bondi 7
New Balance Fresh Foam More V3
Nike Invincible
Reebok Floatride Symmetros. Just did a 14 miler in them and they felt great
Asics Novablast 2
Onistuka tiger
vomero 16
Klompenwinkle clogs (unsanded)
I've been enjoying the Streakflys on long runs ("5k-10k shoe" notwithstanding). Shoes in the Skechers Razor line are good, too.
I really like the Nike Zoom Fly, I liked the 2018 version so much I bought 4 pairs over the years and just finally wore the last one out and now am running on the Zoom Fly 4 which seems to be as good. I frequently do 13-18 mile long runs on these and they feel great. Not as much cushion as Hoka but enough that you don't get sore and I find the carbon plate very responsive.
Asics GT-2000. Haven't found a better all-around performer in years (for me).
I also use them for tempo runs and intervals.
I use the GT-1000s for short easy runs and recovery runs.
If there is no speed and you are running easy the whole way, I recommend the ASICS Nimbus Lite. Lots of cushion and achilles support, but not too heavy.
My favorite LSD shoe is the Altra Torin 5
Saucony Ride, maybe the best shoe ever developed.
Unfortunately i get no money for this advertising :)
Totally depends on if you are doing long runs as a workout or running them easy.
Nike Alphafly no debate.Go with the science .
Crocs
Skechers max road 5. lots of protection but nice and bouncy and can pick up the pace. legs always feel good next day.
Endorphin speed and the pros are great shoes
I got a pair of Novablast 1 and had a nice 15-mile run. I feel my feet were nice and protected. They have a nice bouncy sensation that makes it a really fun ride. These shoes absolutely live up to the hype. I feel they will be good for multiple purposes from easy to tempo to long.

What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
What is the most stupid running advice you've ever heard?🤣(It can be funny)
Are Asics, Saucony, and New Balance envious of Brooks, Hoka ,and On?
