I'm training for a marathon and the plan I'm following includes a bunch of medium-distance runs throughout the week, separate from the weekend long run. For example, on a given day during the week I might do a 7k tempo run or a 10k easy run.
If I run to and from work, I could alter my route so that I take 3.5k there and back, or 5k, etc. Basically what I'd be doing is taking these individual runs (7k, 10k, etc) and doing half early in the day and half later in the day. What impact might that have? I know I shouldn't split up my weekly long run, so I'm wondering if splitting up my other runs might be a bad idea as well.
