I'm running a race this weekend. I have a Nike Aeroswift singlet that I like, but my favorite shorts are Adidas. How lame is it to mix the brands?
If I wear Nike hoes and Adidas socks would that balance it out?

Really don't think anyone cares. As long as the colors match it's fine in my book.
If none of the brands are paying you to represent, just black out the logos and run in what you find most comfortable. Unless it's Tracksmith. Don't blackout the Tracksmith logo so people know your status in the sport.
This is a problem if you are autistic.
None of the brands are paying me put a podium could net me a few hundred dollars and I need to look sharp for the photo
unless they are paying you, its lame to wear only one brand.
I'm in agreement with the others, unless you are sponsored by a single company you should mix it up because it's lame to have brand loyalty if they aren't paying you.
It’s actually lame if you don’t and you aren’t getting paid by any brand.
Diversity and inclusion could be your strength, and therefore a mix might help you podium.
It's lame to NOT wear different brands unless you are sponsored.
Wear the best (your favorite, proven in training) of each item. It would be silly to wear an inferior pair of shorts because they match your singlet.
What's lame is being so insecure that you seek out anonymous internet trolls for fashion advice.
What a try hard, got to look cool but not too cool where it looks like you're trying too hard. Go with a beer t shirt, cut it in half to show off your abs, get some super eccentric BOA trippy looking 2" split shorts and either pink or neon shoes, oh don't forget the pit vipers with a trucker hat.

Don’t listen to these guys. Having brand continuity in your outfit is definitely the way to go if you’re trying to look good. Doesn’t matter if you’re sponsored or not. If you do have to mix them up, then just try to make sure that they match and don’t have huge logos/designs that clash.
With any brands shorts, it's ok to wear a shirt from the Champion brand that has "Champion" printed across the front to let the world know that you are a champion. My auntie once said, "Dress to look tremendously important." Nothing looks more important than having champion on your chest.
It’s lame to care if brands are mixed.

Wear what works for you. There is no expectation that an unsponsored runner use kit solely from one company.
When I ski my helmet, goggles, gloves, jacket, pants, boots, skis, poles, mid layer and base layers often are all from different companies. People choose the item that works for them at the price they are willing to pay.
I always wear white t-shirt , white shorts so I look serious , just the the Chariots of Fire running groups .
Honestly I have no idea what brands I wear except the shoes.
