Woody Kinkaid paces them for 3/4 of the race. If he is racing and not pacing he probably runs in the 26:40s. How many non-Africans have broken 27 minutes? A handful? And BTC might have 5 on their team right now.
Ive always been gullible but starting to see the truth here. The shoes quite simply provide a boost to times across the board as evidenced by the WRs falling and hundreds of kids breaking 4:00 in the mile.
I think Grant would have run 26:25 without the "super shoes". It's been shown that the shoes are actually quite a bit slower than carbon plated vic elites.

This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

Agree. Without the baseballes shoes, I say he runs 26:58. Still great but not so obvious. This reminds me of the McGwire/Sosa steroid era in baseball. Used to be exciting when any player made a run at 50 homers in a year. Suddenly, several players were hitting 50, 60, even 70 homeruns in a year. Something was fishy. Took the fun out of rooting for someone to hit 50. Turns out it was steroids. Now we have all these WRs falling, a hundred college kids breaking 4:00 in the mile. This time we know what it is -- the shoes. Takes the excitement out of a record performance. This reminds me of the McGwire/Sosa steroid era in baseball. It's disheartening when performance-enhancing factors overshadow the thrill of athletic achievements. The era of McGwire and Sosa's record-breaking home runs tainted the excitement of hitting milestones. Similarly, the recent surge in track records and receiver performances is clouded by concerns about technology, like specialized shoes. It undermines the purity of the sport and detracts from the awe of witnessing exceptional talent. Transparency and fair play are essential to maintain the integrity and enjoyment of sports for both athletes and fans.
