I just dropped some big bucks on a pair of socks. Full length CEP brand compression socks. Any care tips to make them last?
CEP care instructions are simple. Machine wash and dry. No bleach. Just wondering if anything else I should know from people's experience to keep them in good shape and last long.
I've put mine in a dryer with no problems... but I only paid $4 for knock-offs shipped from China. If you dropped $40 on them, I'd let them air dry.
We have a folding clothes rack in the laundry room for anything that might shrink in high heat. If you only have a couple of items, you could hang them from a clothes hanger with clothes pins. I have some irreplaceable gear (USA singlets with special memories) that I would only air dry.

The basic cheapo c. socks are pretty hard to get on for some of us unacrobatic oldies. A rubberized glove on one hand really helps.
The other tidbit I got is, if you go for the expensive kind, the ones with zipper? Bear in mind that they are metal zippers and can deliver a pretty bad scratch or laceration when you attack them in 😠 anger. Also, you might have to use tape or a wide rubber band to keep the deteriorating zipper in place. I know the theory behind them and am concerned about free circulation and avoiding clots etc, but as of late I've thrown caution to the wind and gone without the annoying things. Rationalize it by mumbling about "just another big pharm con to extract bucks from old folks." I'm probably wrong there, but I didn't get where I am today by being right.

I got several pair of c socks for Christmas, and just do normal wash and dry. It's only been a few months, but they seem fine.
A trick for getting them on, if you don't already know it: fold the top part down, inside out, so that you're just putting on the foot portion, then pull the top part up as if you're putting on normal socks. Start about 40 seconds into this video to see an example: https://youtu.be/nNbmNuzIO98 I didn't know that until my wife showed me.
I think the OP was looking more for something like: You should dump out the more solid bits in the toilet first and give it a good swish before throwing it the washer.
Manufacturer wash instructions were already mentioned by the OP, so that's probably what OP was looking for.
