BU LAST CHANCE Meet - What's the Point?

Yeah, how dare they hold a meet on an awesome track for hundreds of athletes to compete. Who needs that? I mean Kerr might have an opinion.

But "last chance" for who? Last chance for runners who weren't good enough to qualify for their college conference championships?

I'm not paying attention to the results, but didn't two UO men's milers skip conference to run at BU? Didn't both of them qualify for nationals too? Maybe running on a bouncy banked 200m track is faster than a flat 300m track. Maybe that's the point.

So the point is to hold a meet for a thousand runners so that 2 of them can qualify for nationals?

The two UO runners skipped out on the "Pac-12 Invitational." The Pac-12 does not have an indoor conference meet.

If the NCAA allowed athlete's times NEXT WEEK to count, and this so called "Last Chance" meet was held NEXT WEEK for athletes that didn't run fast enough at their conference meet, then that would make sense.

You're pathetic and a loser. The name of the sport is TRACK & FIELD. Why are we complaining about a Track & Field meet being held? Aren't we supposed to be fans of the sport? If you can forget about your preconceived ideas and look at the result, you'll see that there were some good performances.

Some NCAA runners qualified at BU today for their indoor nationals- and their conference doesn’t do indoor track.

There were some excellent marks at BU, some collegiate, some open. Besides UO runners Yearian & Brown running sub 3:55 in the mile teammate Aaron Bienenfeld ran 13:21.99 for 5K, breaking the German national record. 2nd was Ehab El-Sandali of Iona, at 13:25.01.

Buddy, this sport is gonna stay in rough shape if every meet needs to have a point.
