Can we just appreciate this result for a minute. NCAA gives 9 seconds for conversion. This is a mid major conference. And Nico didn’t even run it.

Is nico hurt? Haven’t seen much from him in awhile after mia in that 3k.
Is Atwater's 3:54 track record a conversion?
He did the 1200 leg of the DMR yesterday and is entered in the 3000 today (although he's in the slow heat for some reason).
Yes, I saw that. I guess he has NT and they can’t make exceptions. He will TT the whole thing? There are 2 other NAU guys in heat 1. Will they rabbit? Nico needs a qualifying time.
Yes, it is a conversion, as is Young’s 3:54
Pretty sure Pat Casey ran a 3:59 mile at Bozeman indoor facility while he was at Montana state.
Plus Cristian Soratos ran 4:04 or something like that in Bozeman as well.
This is great, but nothing new for the Big Sky conference.
They are a power conference in distance running.
5 seconds for the altitude, 4 seconds must be for the flat track.
question answered. the 2 NAU guys are rabbits for Nico
No, it is something new, a championship record by 0.69 seconds.
They will laps a bunch of guys soon
7:59.02
slower than his little brother
That will be a good target for heat 2
What's the conversion for this? Thinking around 7:4high for the altitude and track.
7:59.02 converts to 7:53.49, I believe, more the flat to banked track conversion of .9885. Then it converts down further to around 7:41.5 for the NCAA altitude conversion for Bozeman (4926 ft), which is 13 seconds for the 9+ minute steeplers they list for the 2009 standards, which I assume means that it is about 12 seconds for an 8 minute 3k. Whatever it is precisely, that is one of the best 3k performances in NCAA history.
That should read 'for the flat to banked track conversion ..."
Nico wins…
heat 2 started too slow
No way they can now catch up
Already 4s back after 2 laps
Drew Bosley also ran quite well. His 14:05 5000m was a championship record by 6 seconds and is worth approximately 13:41 for the altitude and another ten seconds for flat to banked track, or 13:31 way ahead of second place.
He ended up winning by 13s
good runners in the field. Hamilton ran 8:18 (SB 7:45). Osterstock ran 8:12 (SB7:48)…
The Drew Bosley thread gives the conversion as 13:27.
