Hello
I was running track/xc up until a few years ago (prs around 17:30xc, 4:45 mile) then started getting hit with a bunch of injuries. I decided to back off and have been doing random stuff over the past ~2 years--running here and there and some biking--so I'm not in terrible shape. I ran a 18min 5k a few months ago off of a few workouts.
I want to run a half marathon (+ want to see if I can stay healthy with the lower intensity/higher mileage approach) and am wondering how I should go about it. I have a pretty strong aerobic base generally but haven't done consistent mileage in several years so not sure if I should just try to do mileage for a while before even starting workouts or what. I don't want to race until I think I can run somewhat well.
I plan on trying to find a coach or group over the summer but am on my own until then so any advice would be great. Thanks.
