Ok gang, I know that in the past there has been some discussion of cheaters on this site so let me pose a question. We have a runner in my hometown who has been nailed now on five seperate occassions for cheating. Most involve running the second half of marathons at up to 3min per mile faster than the first half, and running the whole thing up to thirty min. faster than their times would indicate. These races have removed them from the results pages but never identified them has being dqd. I suspect in part to the fact that it is hard to prove for sure cheating has occured. This runner now has a number for Boston when others who have tried to meet the time standards fairly do not. The question is this: Do I have an obligation as a runner who plays by the rules to out this person to the local running community, many already know but no one seems to want to speak up about the issue. This runner is not my gender and isn't close to me time wise so there is nothing to be gained by doing so accept that I can't stand cheaters, yet at the same time I don't want to come on to strong and make this person seem like a victim. What sayeth the board??
