Let's say your first year of running was freshman year of high school. By the end of the year you got down to sub 2 in the 800m. Assuming you are still in relatively good shape, does that mean if you tried to start over, in one year, you could get back down to sub 2 again? Will gains come slower since you are older now? Will gains come faster since you have been there before?
I was thinking I would never get into sub 2 shape again, but than I remembered I did it with only 1 year, so just trying to figure out if I can expect to do it again in 1 year.
Background: Ran all through high school and college and 2 years post college. 27 now and have been running 40 miles a week for the last year and a half but no real workouts. Would guess I am in 5:00 shape.
