Encouraged by the astounding positive reviews from critics and plebs alike I decided to watch PIG (2021) starring Nicholas Cage. To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement — the film did a horrible job of building tension, there was absolutely nothing intricate or interesting about the plot, and it really felt like a cheesy made for TV movie by the time I got to the end (especially the cooking scene at the end). Do people really think that this sort of movie is high artistry? That’s what the reviews indicate.
is there some reason why this movie has such positive reviews? I’m convinced that the positive reviews are coming from bots or something because there is no way that so many people could be fooled by this films fake projection of depth.
I’ve read many of positive reviews and all of them seem to lean towards it being emotionally complex, nuanced, or something like that when I see the exact opposite. It’s a movie made by someone who doesn’t understand how real artists create things and really just made something that has the appearance of depth.
