Does anyone out there have a good stopwatch app that they like for timing multiple athletes through workouts/meets? If it matters, I have an Android-based phone.

Yes. Elite Stopwatch works great for this.
You can add unlimited individual stopwatch split buttons for any number of athletes (all started by the same start button initially). Can label each athlete's split button and also rearrange the athletes on the fly. The documentation is very thin, but a little experimentation was adequate to learn the interface pretty quickly.
Great post. I needed something like this for my high school athletes. The default stop watch app on my Android phone wasn't cutting it.
I looked up Elite Stopwatch and saw that it costs a few bucks. I like paying for apps so I found a free alternative called "Splits Stopwatch: Multi Athlete" by Brian Dougall in the Google Play Store. It seems good so far. There is a tutorial video that explains how to use it.
Just made it free on the Google Play store.
although it looks like it might take a bit to take effect
