Hello I am a High School runner who is hoping to run a sub 10 3200 in 2 months. Last years track season, I ran a 10:20 off of 20 mpw for my base and around 25 mpw for in season training. This was done with lots of speed workouts. Over this summer, I averaged around 29.5 mpw, which resulted in a a 16:44 5k pr during my cross country season. This winter, I have averaged around 37 mpw for 6 weeks, with a track workout+tempo every week. An example of a workout I have done is, 4 miles tempo at 5:35 pace. Is this increase in training going to set me up for a sub 10 performance by February? If not what should I do differently? Thank you!
