I'd say your 1200 meter time trial is probably a little bit better performance than that, and it seems like you are ready for a breakthrough.
Speaking from personal experience, I dropped my PR from 4:03 to 3:59 in one race, then had a couple races of 4:01 before I ran 3:55 to end the season. A couple seasons later, I opened up with a 3:56 and then ran no faster than 3:58 the rest of the year. Then in a later season, I only raced twice and ran 3:59 followed by 3:52.
All of that is just to say that your improvement may not be linear - don't let your mind be the limiting factor in setting a big PR, and on the other side of the same coin, don't get too down on yourself if you don't have the big PR you expect in this race.
