Anyone here ever been a sugar daddy or sugar baby? Ever thought about it? I am happy to answer any questions.

My wife was a sugar baby. 9 lbs. 11 oz. I think due to her Mom's gestational diabetis.

The stigma is all hot air. People are mad that the sugar daddy is a "player" and the sugar baby is "spoiled"--well okay the latter generalization is true. Others want him to settle down into the risky (look at divorce rates) and sometimes miserable trap of marriage and children (misery loves company) and that drives their animosity. But the arrangement can be beneficial for both parties as both can get what they want in the mutual partnership. Although it may be a pricey option for a man, marriage can be too.

I'm fine with women doing this if they have appropriate morals but if they're deceptive, shallow and selfish then it can be toxic. Marriage is an arrangement the same way a sugar daddy relationship is an arrangement. Both parties have desires that intend to be met. A stereotypical sugar daddy is an older man who's rich with a younger woman who's pretty that he pampers. For a rich man, being a sugar daddy may be a better alternative to marriage, especially if he's not seeking kids in the equation.

I could have been a sugar daddy. I was dating a girl for probably 8 months and then she said she wants me to pay her every week and I can do anything I want to her whenever I want. I passed. Mostly because I don’t think it’s a good financial decision and I like to think I have high morals. Anyways, about a year after we stopped dating she said she wanted to try to rekindle things because she really enjoyed being with me. I enjoyed my time with her too, but it’s kind of hard to rekindle things knowing she has sex for money. I support the business decision, but it’s kind of hard to go back after that.

Completely true. Be clear on both ends what you want and what you want to give. She spends time with you because you hand her $$ , do nice things for her, and buy her things. I spend much less $$ being a sugar daddy than I did handing $ to my ex-wife or trying to get her to live on a certain amount of $$ each week. This way fit attractive young women(I only choose ones that I think do actually have some monetary need-spoiled rich young women are a large turn off) that I actually enjoy hanging out with, being around and speaking to. By a certain age in life most of us are very jaded about the world and what is and is not possible-young people are a reminder that yes things that seem like they are low chance/low probability dreams are hard to achieve, but they are possible.

Also it is entirely possible to completely monogamous in an arrangement. It's doesn't have to be about finding a different woman to be with every week.

Thought I saw this AMA sugar thread a few months back as well. Wonder why sugar*s think they are doing something deep and mysterious worth asking anything about?

I'll give my best advice out from a long experienced life. A ' sugar daddy/ sugarbabe'' relationship in most cases lasts over shorter times.There is a lot of psychology in this.The younger woman often looks for a father figure who can reproduce what the real father has broken in and give some sense of security and attention( and money of course). The 'sugar daddy' character also usually has deeper psychological underlying causes created already growing up and then anchored in adulthood, often difficulties in managing emotional life and more deeply connecting emotionally to the opposite sex.Staying in a 'sugar daddy mode' throughout adult male life usually leads to a severe regret in recent years when it's too late. Most 'sugar daddys' should look for professional psychological help.

This is simply evolutionary biology. Once they trapped you and bag you with kids, they have done their job. They no longer need to preen anymore. All that's left is nag you to death.

I get it, married men are mad because their kids are giving them a hard time and the wife won't have sex with him anymore, so they take their anger out on guys who are having fun with women and getting ample sex. Makes sense. Again, misery loves company. I refuse to be shamed into a potentially toxic trap without doing meticulous screening first and foremost.

So I'm actually on Seeking.com right now. I've traded some messages, but haven't actually met up with anyone. I was excited about it at first, but mentally I kind of suck right now, so haven't put that much energy into it. Probably won't renew once this month runs out, unless I feel better mentally about my life.

I love that, player. I've been on there for a couple years it's a blast.

Was in one of these relationships with a late 30s wealthy married woman while I was in college. I did not have 2 nickels to rub together and she was loaded. Her husband was a CEO. She also worked (it's how we met) but it was on campus for peanuts. On and off for a year or so and primarily sexual, but we also had mutual interests - surfing, running, and drinking. She paid for just about everything and helped me out financially a little bit. There was very little judgment in our relationship and I was young and open-minded, but there was a generational communication gap that was insurmountable. Being older now and looking back, I don't care how young and beautiful the partner might be, when there is a 20ish year gap between ages, it is very difficult to relate to and understand one another. More power to those that make this work, but I'm skeptical of anyone who claims these are long-term endeavors with little to no drama or issues.

To Steve the Addict: please don't take this the wrong way, but your posts here come off open and unfettered by societal constraints, yet you come down hard and are extremely judgmental of those who marry and have kids. Do you see the irony here? While I do agree that marriage can be a life-wrecking decision for some, not everyone who is married with children is imprisoned.
