I bought a pair since my feet get really sweaty and the allbirds are super breathable. They're comfortable for casual wear but no real support for long-term wear or for running. They look ok, no worse than big running brand "casual" shoes...
Every person I see wearing them otherwise wears pretentious clothes and demeanor. They bought these shoes because the 'gram.
I wouldn't wear any Allbirds to run or even do serious walking. I have a pair to wear around the house because they are comfortable. I don't use Instagram so I have no idea what has been posted about them there.
They're basically Nike Cortez redone with modern materials. They look about as comfortable as WalMart sneakers or any random Skechers shoes. They certainly are considered a status symbol, given how often they can be seen coming out of Land Rovers or sitting next to suburban yoga mats. They're today's version of 1980s Sperry Docksiders.
My sons wear them because their partnership funded an early round of their capital raise, and their partnership owns a significant chunk of their stock. Also, they find them to be comfortable casual shoes.
A status symbol? They cost less than a hundred dollars...
I don't even wear them but they seem like normal, somewhat comfortable, inexpensive shoes for generally walking around. You all have some weird takes on things...
Thomas and Meaghan review the Allbirds Flyer, which, turns out– is a pretty nice running shoe for shorter distances. With a sustainable focus, including a eu...
To be fiar their customer service is amazing. I ordered a pair, wrong size. Sent it back, brand new pair. You get to try them for 30 days and can send them back in any state if you don't like them. I found them helpful. I wish I'd gone for the eucalyptus ones rather than the wool trainers though. They're quite hot and not much structure.
Just looked them up and they are just a basic looking shoe lol. Think you're stressin too much about things that don't matter OP
+1. There's an Allbirds store near my neighborhood that I walk by sometimes, but I never really took much notice of their product. Just looked them up, and...it's just a relatively plain looking inexpensive shoe.
I might actually go try some on. They might be good for days that I'll be on my feet a lot in the hospital when I'm on a service that allows scrubs and doesn't require business casual attire.

And apparently they offer a 10% discount to healthcare workers. Thanks for bringing this brand to my attention, OP. I would have just kept on walking by their store without ever going in if I hadn't read this thread.

My brother's in residency and really likes wearing Allbirds with his scrubs. He has a green pair and a blue pair.
