In Nick Symmonds most recent video, runner Michael Jordan claims he ran 15 miles at 4:40 mile pace during a "threshold" workout. Skip to the 11 minute mark for part where he makes this claim.

Maybe he meant he ran a workout in the long run where a few miles or segments were at 4:40 pace. Or maybe he was just joking. Otherwise that sounds like complete bs obviously lol
I believe it. Gerry Lindgren once ran 26 miles at sub 2 hour marathon pace.

Same. I once ran 27 miles in 1:56:29.
I'm the Queen of England.
maybe a little exaggerated but he's not just some guy, he ran at the trials in the 3k steeple
also Joshua cheptegei follows him in instagram, thats gotta be worth something

Dammit I only ran 1:56:34, your officially faster then me
No doubt he's a talented runner. I won't dispute that. He's a sub 8:10 steepler and has a solid 5k best as well (not quite top elite but sub 14). He's got a half marathon PR of 1:05:33 back in 2014. However, claiming to drop a 1:01 half marathon "in training" is just unrealistic. I'd buy it as a race effort but not a training run.
Does he say it was continuous? Could be a 5 x 3 mile workout with rest in between or something along those lines.
If he can run 26 miles at 4’02” pace, he can certainly run 15 at 4’40”.
I mean he’s MJ. What do you expect?

Joshua probably confused him for the actual jordan
8:30.86 steeple PR, not 8:10.
How does one run at threshold pace for more than one hour?
He ran them on the footlocker course.
