Good as in above average and well respected, but not quite in the top bracket of athletes.

So, you're going to ask the good times question? It's like this (men's division).
Pre-middle school: Don't trip anyone else at the starting line. After that, I don't know, sub-30:00?
Middle school: 25 minutes or so. You tried.
JV: Break 20, and maybe you'll be useful in a year or two.
Varsity: 17:XX. You won't win any races, but it's respectable.
NCAA D1: 14:XX. That's an amazing time, and also makes you an also-ran.
Pro (national level): 13:17. So close, and yet so far.
Pro (international level): 12:58. Always a threat, never a medallist.
Hobby jogger, open division: 17:XX. Good job, no wrong turns this time!
Hobby jogger, 40-49: 19:XX. You haven't slowed down that much.
Hobby jogger, 50-59: 20:XX. It's amazing that you're still supporting cancer research like this, year after year.
Hobby jogger, 60-69: 23:XX. No, you look great in that singlet!
Hobby jogger, 70-79: Finishing the race proves that you're alive.
Hobby jogger, 80+: Making it to the starting line is an accomplishment. They should hand you your finisher's medal at the first water stop just in case.
Thank you for making me feel good about my times!
