The answer, that you already know, is that you shouldn't race. And that you should do whatever you need to, right now, to help the injury. Whether that is rest or physio or whatever.
If the race is important to you, and you know you're going to do a good time AND the race isn't going to make the injury too much worse, then do the race and then do the necessary rehab after the race. But it will take (possibly much) longer if you don't do it now. Is the race worth it?
I haven't done the proper training for it, in fact l just started doing a few workouts after many many many months. This race was the only thing that kept me motivated for a super long time. Now l am 2 weeks out and the leg is starting to bother me walking again, after only a few weeks of workouts. I am not looking to run a PR or anything, l am just looking to run it. It's only a 10k. I am just thinking if l back off big time and do one workout before the race will l be able to at least run the thing? I can't run much more then 40 minutes at a 6:30 or 7 minute pace without some problems, so l haven't done a lot of miles, but l have done a few decent workouts. Although that might have made things worse.
