Every time a runner is bashed on this site the defense is always "I bet you can't do better". That never is an issue in any other sport. You never hear someone say Michael Vick sucks followed by a respose of "He's a better quaterback than you". If Alan Webb has a bad race and I want to say he blows than as a fan I should be granted that opinion. Armchair quaterbacks are what makes American sports great. I know I can't run a 2:09 marathon but I should still be able to bash and praise professional runners as I see fit. The more we treat professional running as a "real" sport the more it will be exepted.
