I'm in an interesting situation. I did track throughout high school, never cross country (I was a soccer guy), although I wish I had. In my senior year, I ran 4:35 in the 1600m. I didn't really take track that seriously outside of the ten-week season, which meant I was running max 35mpw when it mattered. I'm currently on a gap year at altitude (5.5k feet) for the next six months. I want to run a 4:20 and possibly walk on somewhere next fall. What should my training look like now in Nov 2021 if I want to drop my mile time 15 seconds by June 2022?
Any advice on base training to workouts would be greatly appreciated!!
