D1 coaches ignoring girlfriends recruiting emails

You could just try to do it in a capacity where she is just a girl from your high school, not your girlfriend. Seems a lot less weird that way.

Why hasn’t her high school coach reached out to the coaches? Have her coach do the work. Don’t get involved.

Gf of three years in high school and you are actively trying to recruit her onto your team?

Sounds like a recipe for disaster when she shows up and starts immediately dating a member of football team. Very low chance this relationship lasts when she gets exposed to all the new men in college.

A good % of coaches are poor at recruiting and clueless. I returned 100% of the emails that were sent to me by athletes even if they were a 26 min 5K girl. If a potential athlete took the time to write me it seemed like the right thing to do. It only takes 30 sec. and you never know if that athlete has a younger brother/sister who is talented enough to run at your school or a teammate. For 30 seconds of typing, I would like to have athletes (even HS athletes who have zero chance to run at my school) say nice things about me and my program. Probably best to tell the coach there is a girl at my HS running the following times and is interested attending school here next year

In any negotiation, and that's what this is, you need to focus on discussion which drives the desired outcome.

That means laying out a path forward which does not "lose face". This is enshrined in Japanese culture - but applies everywhere.

You aren't trying to win an argument or make someone look bad, you are trying to get what you want. Many people who can help you do not HAVE to help you. Getting on their bad side or raising their back fur is counter productive.

I won't write a book here... if your GF was advocated by her HS coach, she should ask him to reach out. Or she can, but if she does, she should be polite and brief.

If you want to help, and are on good terms with your coach, I don't see the harm in mentioning your GF is a stand out runner looking to commit... and had reached out and is anxious to hear back.

Yea seems like a good plan… and if your coach isn’t interested in a girl that is able to contribute to the team and wants to attend the school then your coach is not very chill.

Feedback? Stay out of it.

If you have little respect from the coaching staff, what makes you think you can help?

Also, if you really love her, maybe just let her go to the better school? When you two have broken up, she at least will have a positive, challenging college experience to think about, not about how she went to some middling school bc her needy boyfriend was there.

I'd have a Wordpad document that I copy and paste for all those who wouldn't fit into my team. Just add the name to the top of the email.

For those reading this you're being trolled big time..see the other thread, supposedly by the same "cheating gf" who claims the same D1 coach is in fact emailing her and shes ignoring them.

You don’t want her to join your college team. I’m serious. I’ve seen this and it always ends up in a bad break. Freshmen don’t need to be in a committed relationship.
